If you’re studying information from textbooks, charts and photographs can act as a good visual cue to aid you in storing the information into your memory. Memorizing can also become easier by drawing your own graphs and other memory aids.

Get a solid, consistent amount of sleep each night. This may be unbelievable, but sleep is very important to help you remember things. If you are feeling low on energy, you will likely have a difficult time remembering what you need to. You can try to get more sleep at night to help your memory out.

You may significantly increase your ability to remember important things by making a habit of letter writing or journaling.

Pay attention when introduced to new information and it will be easier to remember. Associate new names with a visual image of how they are spelled to help improve your memory. If you’re not sure how to spell someone’s name, ask them. You could try asking them how they spell their name as an icebreaker. Then, throw it in conversation when appropriate. The more you use it, the more likely it is you will recall it later. Try using it a few times during the conversation to really make a difference, and you will be sure to remember it later.

Study the information you are trying to learn in many different locations. If you’re stuck in the same location learning material, then you will associate material with only specific location. By moving around, however, you can easily store items in long-term memory by disassociating them from locations.

There are many advantages to having a good memory. It can make your life easier in numerous ways every single day.
